Bali – Midnight Parting Shots

So we’ve reached the end of our stay at Bali, and on the last night, we decided to head to the beach to capture the beach in images. All the images that follow are unedited except for resizing and captioning. They were taken using the slow-shutter technique with the assistance of a tripod and a infrared remote trigger. The thing like the sun, hehe, it’s actually the moon. And the tiny specks on the sky are stars. I’m sharing the camera settings for each picture on the captions. Enjoy.

Bali Day 7 – Tanah Lot Revisited

On the 7th day, we headed back to Tanah Lot and visited the arts & crafts shops along the road leading to the Tanah Lot main temple. Clouds were interfering with the sunset on that day, but we still did manage to get beautiful shots. We spent most of the time chatting about and joking around while enjoying the wind blowing onto our faces.

Bali Day 6 – Uluwatu

Uluwatu mesmerized me more than any other place in Bali. Sure, Tanah Lot was great, but Uluwatu was on a high cliff and the experience was second to none. The only thing you have to watch out for are the monkeys. They try to snatch away anything you have with you, so taking precaution with your gadgets or even bodily ornaments is a highly recommended practice.

Bali Day 6 – Dreamland Beach

One step into the beach, and I immediately found out why it was called Dreamland Beach. The sky was clear and the sun shone like it was about to be the end of days. We took up a spot and started our beach walkabout. Some images are Not-Safe-For-Work (NSFW). They contain partial nudity which might be offensive to some people. Bali Day 6 – Garuda Wisnu Kencana

The Garuda Wisnu Kencana is a large statue of Lord Vishnu and Garuda, his loyal mount. The statue stands at 23 meters high and is made of copper and brass. The sheer size of the statues was amazing to the eyes.

Bali Day 5 – Seminyak Beach

By the time we reached Seminyak, it was about 5pm. It wasn’t a crowded beach and the sunset was supposed to happen around 6.30pm. We chilled for a while at the nearby hotel’s restaurant with soft drinks, then we headed down to the water’s edge to soak the final rays of the sun. And what a sight it turned out to be.

Bali Day 5 – Beauties & The Beach

Catchy title eh? Towards the end of the day, we headed to the beach which was quite near our hotel in Kuta. This was merely a stop before we headed to Seminyak to watch the sunset. Puvanan, Selian and I went on a walkabout in the cool breeze and met a few lovely women and children along the way. It was the day I learned that photography is as much as meeting and interacting with people as taking pictures of them.

Bali Day 5 – Nusa Dua

We headed to Tanjong Benoa at Nusa Dua and got on a boat ride to feed the fishes. Then we moved on to the Moon Cot Sari turtle conservation center where many different animals awaited us.

Bali Day 4 – Tanah Lot

Our last activity for day 4 is a trip to Tanah Lot. The place is really beautiful, and we were expecting to get sunset pics. Although we got some pretty awesome pictures, they weren’t what we had in mind as the clouds simply refused to leave. Silhouettes were awesome, and the skyline was something I would never forget.

Bali Day 4 – Lake Bedugul

Lake Bedugul sits atop a mountain at 1500 meters. The weather was calm and chilly, and clouds were perpetually covering the sky when we arrived there around noon. Upon entering the tourist area, there sits a Buddha temple with a Buddha statue draped in yellow. On the lake itself, is another temple, known as Pura Ulun Danu Bratan. It is a water temple, known to the locals to bless the irrigation works around the area.
