The 3rd and final part of the Thaipusam series. This issue showcases the multitude of faces in the event. What better place to capture expressions than at a religious festival, looking at 1001 faces showing 1001 different emotions?

Thaipusam 2010 – Hair & Water

So here comes the second part of my Thaipusam photoshoot. The theme this time is Hair & Water. It’s a no-brainer: shots displayed are about the shearing of hair (called “mudi kaanikkai” in Tamil) and also the showering at the river to cleanse oneself before one performs his/her ritual.

Thaipusam 2010 – Idols

Headed out to Batu Caves on Friday 29th January at 10pm. What a tiring endeavour! Walked around and managed to use some natural lighting to capture pictures. Without a flashgun, I’ve got to rely on my built-in flash or natural light. As a built-in flash sucks in lots of battery power, I had to be careful with my shots. All being said and done, I enjoyed my first photoshoot for Thaipusam.
