Bali Day 2 – Goa Gajah & Mt. Batur

Goa Gajah (Elephant Cave) was very spiritual at first look. The cave served as a meditation point for kings of the old, at least that’s what our guide told us. The entrance to the cave is guarded by stone carvings of menacing figures and there is a bathing pool nearby with statues. Another destination was Mount Batur, an active volcano. Of course we didn’t manage to get close to it, but we managed a few great shots. And as a special surprise, I’m giving away desktop wallpapers for each of the 4 Mt Batur pictures below in different screen resolutions and they are without any watermarks! Take your pick and download all four!

how u did the HDR effects bro?

    • Kavi 14. May, 2010 at 1:51 am #

1st u need the 3 images wit diff exposure. U can use bracketing function in ur cam to take all 3 without needing to change any setting. Or u can take one RAW file, and use Lightroom and create duplicate files wit diff exposure setting (usually, it’s -1, 0, +1)

I installed Photomatix plugin for Lightroom. Export the 3 images to Photomatix software, and it will combine the 3 images, but it will look a bit flat. U can send the file back to Lightroom (it will be in TIFF format) then do your regular touch up work (contrast, brightness, WB, etc), then finally export as JPEG image.
